Non-Profit Board Responsibilities

Governance and policy setting, focus is on mission, direction, priorities, and evaluation of the organization.
Hiring and evaluating the Operations Management Team volunteer staff.
Preparing budgets and approving expendatures.
Appointing various board approved committee members.
Signing legal documents and evaluating liabilities.
The Board becomes involved in the day to day management of the club as Operations Management Team members when they are needed to fill in as necessary.

Functions of the URS Board of Trustees (Article VI, By-laws)

Act as finance and budget committee.
Prepare business agenda for the monthly business meeting.
Act as the committee to accept nominations from the General Membership.
Assume the rights of decision in emergency matters.
Meet monthly. A majority of board members (4) will constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
The Board will impose fees, dues and assessment on groups and individuals using the facilities.

The annual membership meeting for election is held on the second Sunday in December.

Chair:	Bill G	Presides over all meetings; spokesperson for board; no vote except to break tie
Vice-Chair:	Elaine C	Assumes duties of chair if chair is absent; votes
Treasurer:	Greg S	Oversees financial accounting; provides financial reports to the board and membership; second signer on checks; votes
Recording Secretary:	Joe B	Takes minutes of meetings; third signature on checks; votes
Member-at-Large:	Francesca Mc	Liason to membership: votes
Member-at-Large:	Glen G	Liason to membership: votes
Member-at-Large:	Anita B	Liason to membership: votes
Alternate:	Joanne M	Attends meetings
